Some people just want to dive into the counselling from the very first session. If that is you, then just get in touch and we’ll set a date and time for the first session and go from there. Sessions are 50 minutes long.
If you have any questions though, contact me and I’ll try to answer any questions you have before you decide whether to go ahead.
In any case, I would not expect you to make a commitment without meeting me, so I treat the first session as a try-out and we can discuss whether to continue at the end.
Email to arrange an initial counselling appointment.
For focussed, problem-solving work this is usually for a limited term, typically 8-12 weeks. For major life changes, long-established issues and exploratory work it can be open-ended for as long as you feel you need it. You are in charge of how long therapy lasts.
I usually work on a fixed-fee basis:
- daytime: £45 per session
- evening: £60 per session
Fees can be paid in cash, by cheque, direct bank transfer or PayPal but I do not at present accept credit cards. Payments can be made weekly or monthly.
I do have a number of concessionary places at lower fees if you cannot afford the full fee, especially if you are able to come in the daytime. We can discuss fees at the initial appointment.
If you are a counselling student, then having counselling is part of the training. I am trained in the Person-Centred Approach and so can see students of this approach or those taking a wider Humanistic training. I can sometimes offer concessions to student counsellors so please ask.
If you think you might be interested or if you have any questions, you are welcome to email me with any questions or to book an appointment.
